The listings and linked pages to the left are a culmination of exhaustive effort on the part of James and Ward Davis. Sources include archived obituaries, wedding licenses, death records, and other historical documents found at the Dickson County Library, the Montgomery County Library, and the Montgomery County Archivist's office in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Other supporting documentation came from census records, Social Security Death Index records, and interviews with living relatives that still reside in the area. Where and when possible, photos were taken of the grave site and the grave locations are listed under the "Cemetery" pulldown to the left.

Unfortunately, Jim and I were unable to locate the Bumpus Cemetery which sits in a cow pasture in Montgomery Country. After three hours of searching, getting eaten up by ticks, covered in cow droppings, along with, nearly being chased out of the pasture by a rather "annoyed" Angus Bull, we had to admit defeat. However, we have a point of contact with the owner of the property, and hopefully in the future, we may obtain photos of the stones. This has since changed and updates will be coming soon.
